Hi guys! Just trying to take advantage of some time off. I'm working on some other things but I since I already started, I wanted to know if a couple more people wanted to do some sketch trades with me.

Rules: For this exercise, I will only be drawing OCs, no fan art. Just humans or human-like (i.e. elves, etc.). A single character. Only sketch trades, no requests. Apologies to writers (but I am planning on doing something with writers soon so stay tuned).

I've had a pretty long absence from DeviantArt, and it was a sudden and unintentional leave of absence. Neither was it something I wanted or felt good about. Life just happens.

I found myself battling for time between being a full time student and having a fulltime job. Between my chronic (but not deadly) health issues and the extreme changes to my personal life. My family is now about 350 miles from me, including one of my best buddies CandyAM. A relationship, changing environments. So much as changed in the last couples years its like I have a completely different life. It wasn't just dA that I left but it was art that somehow got left behind. I flailed with art over the years yet it was never for lack of inspiration or love. But I have doubts, I always do.

It wasn't until my boyfriend talked me into (kind of forced haha) doing a booth at the Long Beach Comic Con last summer that things changed. There is nothing like people gathering around your little shop admiring and buying your work. Because they love it and they want it sitting in their house.  And it was wasn't just the people coming to buy, it was the people offering the jobs or the places at their shops. And it was the other artists. I met a lot of really cool people who share a passion or art and storytelling and often things geeky (it was a comic convention after all). I reflect back on that weekend and I remember, I flippin LOVE this community. That's dA - the art community.

I just wanted to thank everyone! All of my friends and watchers and the artists I admire. Thanks to people who despite me pretty much being MIA kept me on their watch list or added me or commented or faved.

A little over a year I had decided to make some drastic changes to my life and I did. Eventually, that led me back here to art. Since the beginning of this year, I had decided to do a little art, even a sketch every day. I don't post it because I am saving you all from crappy work haha but I at least have been doing that. I've done a lot of talking, but now I going to walk the walk.


I am working on a fan art of Disney upcoming princess Moana! (Shown below). I've been streaming this over the past couple days and will continue streaming the duration of this project until its finished. You can find my stream at livestream.com/clmac.
